On the third weekend of Advent, we were once again delighted to welcome hundreds of horse enthusiasts to our festively decorated indoor arena for the traditional Breeders’ Advent event. In a pre-Christmas atmosphere, promising young talents as well as proven sires of the current breeding season were presented in show jumping, dressage and in-hand.
A key element of the event was the breeders’ awards ceremony. Honoured were those breeders who, in recent months, have celebrated successes with premium mares and licensed stallions, thereby making a significant contribution to successful horse breeding.
New Additions for the Upcoming Breeding Season
Particular attention was given to the presentation of the station’s new stallion additions. Hendrik Sosath showcased Clear Heart Z and Caliente Catoki over fences, providing the audience with a first impression of their Quality, rideability and sporting potential.
Another highlight was the presentation of the new young stallions in hand, all of whom impressed with their type, presence and Quality of movement. The group included the OS premium stallions Candy Cumano by Candy de Nantuel and United Air by United Touch S, the Hanoverian premium stallion Venedig by Vivaldos, and the KWPN stallion Sir Franklin by So Perfect -forming a versatile quartet of young sires. The presentation was complemented by video features introducing additional stallions in hand, including Casino Toulon, Casino Grande and Diamant de Plaisir II.
Sport Horses Under Saddle
In a lively atmosphere, Hendrik Sosath also presented the young talents Easy Jet, Stakkato Cornet and Capital One. The current OS champion mare Casalique impressively represented the successful breeding of the Heida dam line.
In the dressage arena, Madita Rentz captivated the audience with the stallions Bondolo and the main premium champion Federer, both demonstrating their positive sporting development. Federer also showcased his breeding value directly: his three-year-old son Fine Future was harmoniously and convincingly presented by Lientje Schüler. A particularly special moment was the first under-saddle appearance of the three-year-old Donkey Amour, also ridden by Lientje Schüler.
Another highlight was the performance of For Dance, who impressed at Grand Prix level under Ninja Sosath. The presentation of Vivaldos, now ridden by 16-year-old junior rider Jannie-Lizara Brüning, was an especially emotional moment.
Danica Duen proudly presented the reigning Bundeschampion of three-year-old pony stallions, Next Temptation, as well as the newly licensed premium stallion Hilgenroths Gigant.
Conversations and Special Moments
Gerd Sosath took the opportunity to engage in conversation with breeders and guests in front of a large audience. Short interviews addressed current developments and key challenges within equestrian sport. Vivien Lübbe (Equovis) and Michael George (PSVWE) spoke about the diversity of the AGRAVIS-Cup Oldenburg and the event’s significance for the region.
A special moment was the congratulation of Stephan Geue, Pico Hannöver, Christian Temme and Hendrik Sosath, who recently passed their judges’ examinations. They were particularly pleased to receive a personal video message from Joachim Geilfuß.
In a dignified moment, the audience also paid tribute to the influential sires Cador and Stedinger, both of whom passed away this year. Their lasting impact on breeding and their valuable genetic legacy were respectfully acknowledged.
The guests then got into the Advent spirit with a karaoke Christmas carol session. The late evening offered ample opportunity for conversation, exchange and convivial gatherings in a warm, family-like atmosphere.
