A double occasion

Over 1,000 spectators made their way to Hof Sosath last weekend for this year's stallion show - a day that was celebrated on two occasions this year. In addition to the athletic highlights in the arena and on the course, Gerd Sosath's 70th birthday also took centre stage. ‘Die akustischen Vier’ (The Acoustic Four) set the musical mood with double bass, saxophone and guitar.

Birthday champagne and Italian flair

The audience could look forward to a packed programme and took the opportunity to take notes on the stallions shown in the workbook created especially for the stallion show - and to do so in a relaxed manner with a birthday sparkling wine in hand. Tenor Sebastiano Lo Medico got the audience in the mood for the evening with Italian chansons and a joint happy birthday song for Gerd Sosath was also a must.

Jumping talents that inspire

The evening got off to a sporty start with the show jumpers. The stallions were in top form: the new boss Hendrik Sosath, who took over the farm at the beginning of the year, presented Diamant de Plaisir IIVagabond and the youngster Easy Jet

Comme Prévu was presented under Jannes Schultewolter, who has moved back to the Wesermarsch from Bavaria and supports us as a rider.

Ogano was presented by his rider Johannes Ehning, who has already achieved international Grand Prix victories with him. Thomas Heineking presented the seven-year-old Toulon son Toucento.

Mathis Schwentker not only showed the impressive youngsters Stakkato Cornet and Capital One, but also the 1c premium stallion of the Oldenburg Stallion Days 2025, Casino Toulon, as well as the chestnut stallion For My Pleasure.

Dressage stallions with special performances

Madita Rentz with Federer and Bondolo and Lientje Schüler with the three-year-old Federer son Fine Future provided the highlights in the dressage camp.

A very special moment was Ninja Sosath's freestyle with For Dance, which was accompanied by live vocals from tenor singer Sebastiano Lo Medico. Greta Busacker presented the For Dance daughter and Vice Bundeschampion Frieda NRW and interrupted her masterclass to do so.

Guests from Holland & Denmark

International guests were also part of the programme: the elegant liver chestnut Dutch Dream by Dream Boy impressed under Robbin Broekman from the Brinkman stallion station in the Netherlands. Donkey Boy from the stallion station Katrinelund travelled from Denmark and was presented by his rider Stine Klausholt. In addition, the sire Bon Coeur, who is being marketed by us for the first time this year. Julia Jyläs from Finland presented the powerful jumper Magic Touch by Finishing Touch Wareslage, who won 1.60 jumping competitions back in the day.

The Bundeschampion of three-year-old pony stallions, Noble Dance by Neverland, was presented by Danica Duen and will be available again this year from Hof Sosath in fresh semen.

The young stallions Pegasus by Pegase van't Ruytershof and Donkey Amour by Donkey Boy, premium stallion of the Munich licensing, were impressively presented in hand.

Tippi Heineking, who recently won the HGW Youngster Championships with our Lady Cadora OLD, brought the programme to a sporting close. Lady Cadora is the full sister to our elite stallion Cador, who, now 20 years old, has an extraordinary number of successful S-level offspring.

A milestone birthday with a big party

Gerd Sosath's 70th birthday was celebrated after the stallion show. Free beer, many old friends and an atmospheric evening made the day perfect.

Thanks to the entire team

A big thank you to the entire Hof Sosath team, who put their heart and soul and organisational talent into ensuring that everything ran smoothly.

An all-round successful day for everyone involved!
